The Senior School occupies the original school site located in beautiful Parque Taoro, in Puerto de la Cruz, and has been extensively renovated. With 110 students from Years 7 to 13, it has the feel of a “village school”: everyone knows each other; students of all ages mix well together and are very supportive of each other; and we can rightly claim to be a family community.
We follow the English National Curriculum throughout Key Stages 3 (Years 7 - 9) and 4 (Years 10 - 11). By the end of Year 11, most of students have achieved good passes (A* to C) in up to 11 GCSEs and IGCSEs. Most students take GCSE Spanish at the end of Year 9. All students take I/GCSEs in English, Maths and Science at the end of Year 10. In the Sixth Form (Years 12 - 13) students choose from a range of A/S and A levels. Running alongside the British education system, we also value Spanish. Spanish language is taught as a separate subject, and academic Spanish is encouraged through the teaching of the humanities and sciences in Spanish. At Sixth Form level, students are given practical help and advice on choosing the appropriate universities and courses for study at 18+. Students from Yeoward move on to British, Spanish or German universities as fluent bilingual or multilinguals. |
